This was a weekly desktop calendar I illustrated and bound for my mom, as an assignment for Stefan Sagmeister’s design class.
More »The cover bears an inset photograph of her favorite citrus fruit, and pages were illustrated with scenes from my childhood. Each page functioned as a coupon retaining a value of NT33 (that’s one U.S. dollar). The idea was that mom could keep each page and redeem them for a Korean banquet when I visited Taipei in the winter. The months are labeled in Chinese, and Saturdays are marked with a reminder to call me.
Upon completion, I packed and mailed the calendar to mom, who was very pleased.

Saturday...very cute.
Did your mom actually remember to call you every Saturday? What are you during for Mother’s Day 2008? So far, I’m leaning toward sending my mom some Rice to Riches or designing a lounge outfit for her to relax in.
